Angelina Jolie wants two more children in 2008

Actress Angelina Jolie has revealed she wants to adopt another child, and have another child of her own in 2008. But first, the ‘Tomb Raider’ star needs to come to terms with the death of her mom, Marcheline Bertrand who died in January this year. Last week, Jolie’s older brother James, 34, said: “When we lost our mom neither of us could stop crying. “She fought it [cancer] for a very long time, 8 years on and off, but she got to see her grandchildren. That was the best – seeing her with Angelina’s children.”

Now Angelina, 32, & ‘Ocean’s 11′ star Brad Pitt, 44, have told close friends and family that they want to add to their family - which consists of three adopted children – Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 2 – and 17-month-old baby daughter Shiloh. A close family friend told Britain’s Now Magazine: “They’re adopting another child within the next three months. Pax and Mad are both from Asia, but Brad and Ange want Zee to have a companion from Africa.

“Ange is also going to try for another baby. She did have a movie role lined up, but that’s been delayed, so she’s trying to get pregnant straight away.” Angelina is also planning to visit a grief counselor as she continues to struggle with the loss of her mother, almost a year on, she’s still breaking down in tears and having trouble sleeping.

Her weight has plummeted and she’s become haunted by a fear of dying. Plagued by grim thoughts about her own mortality, she’s been forced to look long and hard at her life. A close friend says: “Angelina’s so down right now and in a really dark place. We’re worried that she’s suffering from depression. She’s showing all the classic symptoms. Brad is aware of the problem and has persuaded her to get help.”

Angelina Jolie's deathly weight loss

Angelina Jolie says her dramatic weight loss was triggered by the death of her mother. The 32-year-old actress - whose mother Marcheline Bertrand passed away after losing her battle with ovarian cancer in January - claims the emotional turmoil she went through caused the pounds to fall off and is adamant it had nothing to do with a desire to "look thin". She said: "I have always been lean and this year I lost my mother and I've gone through a lot.

"The thing that's disturbing is that instead of people saying, 'This looks like a person that's actually dealing with something, probably from emotions.' They say, 'Does she fit into skinny jeans and look thin?' "I want people to understand who I am as a person is not somebody that's trying to look thin, but just trying to work through a very difficult year."

Angelina also revealed her partner Brad Pitt was "extraordinary" when her mother died. She added to Grazia magazine: "He is just a great friend and when my mother passed he was so great. He sat with me and held her hand. After she passed away he spend the night asking me and my brother about our mother and got us to tell funny stories about her. He focused on all the love and joy we were fortunate enough to have had. He was extraordinary."

Jolie 'would not knowingly adopt a non-orphan'

Angelina Jolie would have never adopted her Ethiopian daughter Zahara if she had known her mother was alive, according to the actress' brother. James Haven insists his superstar sister was unaware Zahara's birth mother Mentewab Dawit Lebiso was still alive when she adopted the child in 2005 - because paperwork stated the girl was an orphan.

And Jolie would have adopted another child if she had been made aware Lebiso was not dead, her brother says. Haven tells British magazine Grazia: "Angelina has a rule that she adopts children only when they are orphans. I think adoption becomes complicated whenever the biological parents are alive."

Lebiso recently dismissed reports she wanted her child back, insisting she is glad Zahara is growing up in the care of Jolie and her partner Brad Pitt. Lebiso said: "I have never disputed the adoption… I have no ill feelings towards her (Jolie). I think my daughter is a very fortunate human being to be adopted by a world-famous lady. I wish them all the success they both deserve.

Angelina Jolie Leads Eccentric Hollywood Foreign Press Nods for Globes

She may not be as dark and eccentric as she was when she grabbed her previous golden Globes but Angelina Jolie is still getting some love from the Hollywood Foreign Press. She captured a "Best Actress in a Drama" nomination for her role as Marianne Pearl in the box office bomb 'A Mighty Heart.' She wasn't the only one thrown a bit of love by the notoriously unconventional body for a film flop.

George Clooney grabbed a nomination for his role in "Michael Clayton." It always seems to go this way with the Globes and this year was no different. They loved "Charlie Wilson's War" as it grabbed five nominations, including ones for Best Picture and Best Actor (Tom Hanks) in the musical/comedy categories. The film opens December 21.

Angelina Jolie's kids' Xmas wishes

Angelina - who has three adopted children, six-year-old Maddox, four-year-old Pax, two-year-old Zahara and 18-month-old daughter Shiloh with long-term partner Brad Pitt - was thrilled when Maddox decided to pen a Christmas wish list of presents for himself and his younger siblings. A source told America's OK! magazine: "Maddox asked for an 'Elf' DVD and remote-controlled cars for Pax because his brother loves cars. Shiloh is getting a doll and a couple of books.

"Zahara wants princess dresses and a crying doll. Maddox has no idea why Z would want her toy to cry. "Maddox really wanted a remote-controlled dinosaur. He asked Grandma Jane (Pitt) for one, but he isn't sure if she is going to buy it for him." Earlier this week, it was revealed Brad and Angelina are planning to spend the festive season in their $3.5 million New Orleans mansion.Angelina, 32, said: "I am working on my film 'The Changeling' in Los Angeles, but we will be back here in New Orleans for Christmastime. We'll be here throughout the festive period."

Angelina Jolie, Lead Actress: 'A Mighty Heart'

Adapting the story of Daniel and Mariane Pearl for the film "A Mighty Heart" in a truthful and respectful manner was difficult enough, and Angelina Jolie soon discovered that director Michael Winterbottom's style would make it particularly challenging. "The way Michael shoots, I had no rehearsal," says Jolie, who shot the Pearls' wedding her first day on set. "I was in my room getting ready and they said, 'OK, come down the stairs.' So that was it. "I walked into the wedding and we said our vows. I had looked at Danny and Mariane's wedding footage just before, and it made me terribly sad. They loved each other so much, and you can see it in the wedding. It was hard not to cry."

The melancholy was inescapable. Daniel Pearl was executed in 2002 by Islamic terrorists while investigating a story in Karachi, Pakistan, about shoe bomber Richard Reid. It happened while Mariane was pregnant with their son. Jolie and husband Brad Pitt, with the film produced under his Plan B Entertainment shingle, had to focus on the story of Mariane's determination to find the killers, while also dealing with a potentially ominous climate during the pic's shooting in Pakistan and India.

"We talked about the risks before we started filming," Jolie says, "the security concerns and what it would mean politically if we got it wrong. We could anger more people and make it worse. But, if by some small chance we get it right, maybe we can do a little something toward bringing people back together, or at least looking at each other in another light." True to Winterbottom's style of filming, with little rehearsal and much improvisation in striving for realism, many of the roles were filled with people not from central casting but from that region.

"It was a very connected group," Jolie says. "I didn't even know who was a non-actor because it all just felt right." Of all the many roles Jolie has done in her career, this one carried a special burden. "Mariane has suffered the ugliest side of all that is going on in the world today and came out of it believing we can't just be angry and blinded by hate, but must continue to have a dialogue," Jolie says. "If I don't represent her right, and people don't see what a beautiful, strong, open-minded, loving woman she is, then I've done a disservice and hurt a really great woman."

Angelina eyes buff bodyguard

Angelina Jolie’s relationship with Brad Pitt may be under strain over claims that she’s fallen for her British bodyguard. Now magazine in the UK reports that the actress has forged such a close friendship with her security guard , known only as Billy, that she even calls him by the pet name “Chisel” because of his toned torso.

Until recently, Billy, 35, was part of the Special Air Service . As an ex-commando, he is super-fit and lifts weights and runs for at least an hour a day. “Brad and Angie trust him with their lives and the lives of their children,” an insider told Now. “But Brad worries that Angie could be developing too close a bond with the new security guy.” When the 32-year-old mother of four fainted on the set of The Changeling last month, it was Billy — not Pitt — who was there for her.

Two and a half weeks ago, Billy escorted Jolie to a screening of her movie A Mighty Heart in Los Angeles. Body language expert Glenn Wilson told Now that while there was no evidence of anything improper, pictures showed the pair are very relaxed and happy in each other’s company. “Billy’s not behaving like a minion or an employee, so it’s clear that they’re on very good terms and find each other interesting,” he said.

Jolie, Brolin, Norton and 'G.I. Joe' in Today's Casting Bites

As I said in my intro to RopeofSilicon 3.0 I am going to be cutting back on all the casting articles, but when four rather interesting updates are announced as they are today who would I be not to inform?

First off, Angelina Jolie is going to take on a rather interesting film for Paramount Pictures based on the life of intelligence operative Kathi Lynn Austin. Austin's life of arms trafficking and terrorism will serve as the inspiration for an action/thriller for Jolie. Variety reports that Austin, who has most recently worked on contract for the U.N. Security Council, has undertaken field missions in Africa, Europe, Southeast Asia and Central America. The drama will focus on a fictional arms dealer inspired by Victor Bout, the shadowy Russian who is considered one of the world's most prolific dealers in illegal munitions.

The real kicker to this story is that they are looking at it in terms of a franchise for Jolie. I am thinking it sounds something like a Bourne series just with a female protag, which sounds great to me. Goal is to get started on a script as soon as the strike ends.

Angelina Jolie dismisses pregnancy rumors

Angelina Jolie has dismissed rumors that she and beau Brad Pitt will soon be on diaper duty again. Jolie laughed off rumors that she and Brad were expecting their second biological child, but is not ruling out adding to the family sometime in the future. "No, there's always a rumor but not at this moment. But at some point we will (have another child)," she told MTV News.

The couple are already parents to four kids - Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Shiloh. Jolie adopted Maddox in March 2002 while still married to actor Billy Bob Thornton, however when the two split she got custody. She later revealed that Pitt had been the one to encourage her to adopt Zahara in July 2005.

After Pitt and she got together, the actor adopted both the children, and Jolie requested their names be officially
changed to 'Jolie-Pitt' in January 2006. Next came the couple's first biological child Shiloh, who was born in Namibia in May 2006. Jolie then added a second son to the family by adopting Pax Thien in March this year.

Jolie shy about Beowulf body

LOS ANGELES - Angelina Jolie's head peers out from luminous, turquoise water in a dark cavern littered with decaying bodies and skeletons. She is moving slowly toward her prey. Trailing Jolie is a long, thin, twisting gold tail. "I love my tail," Jolie laughs during an interview in Los Angeles recently. The water scene is the first time audiences of her new, ground-breaking digitally-enhanced live action film, Beowulf, see Jolie's face. he other lead actors in Beowulf, Anthony Hopkins, Ray Winstone, John Malkovich and Robin Wright Penn, are not so easily recognisable, thanks to new generation motion capture technology Beowulf director Robert Zemeckis used to make the film.

Zemeckis believed Jolie's exotic beauty, except for the tail, did not need touching up to play the demonic, lizard-like mother of Grendel, a half-decaying monster who also lives in the cavern. Winstone, the East London-born actor with a booming Cockney accent, was not so fortunate. Zemeckis, who used similar Hollywood technical magic to create 2004's The Polar Express with Tom Hanks, cast Winstone to play the movie's hero, Beowulf, a Viking warrior with legendary, dragon-slaying fighting skills. In a traditional Hollywood action adventure film, the casting decision would be deemed ridiculous. Beowulf stands almost two metres tall, has blond, flowing hair and a muscular body similar to a professional wrestler. Winstone is just 178cm tall, has black hair, a pot belly and chubby arms used to lifting pints in a pub.

Beowulf is in in the physical prime of his life, aged in his latest 20s. Winstone celebrated his 50th birthday this year. When Zemeckis first contacted Winstone about playing Beowulf, a story set in Denmark in the 6th century and based on the oldest known English language poem, believed to have been written in the 7th century, the English actor thought the director was kidding.

When they met and Zemeckis showed Winstone images of what Beowulf would look like in the film, he thought the director was insane. Zemeckis, however, was convinced the portly Pom was the man for the job. He was blown away by Winstone's performance as Henry VIII in a 2003 TV movie about the British monarch, but not by the actor's physical appearance. It was Winstone's voice."My wife was watching Henry VIII and I heard Ray's voice and thought 'That's Beowulf'," Zemeckis said.

Geri Halliwell invites Angelina Jolie to all the Spice Girls’ concerts

Spice Girls singer Geri Halliwell has reportedly invited actress & fellow UN Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie and her family to all of the Spice Girls reunion gigs - in the hope that her 18-month-old daughter, Bluebell will become friends with Angelina’s children.

Since moving to LA, Victoria Beckham’s three sons have been mixing with the children of Tom Cruise & Snoop Dogg; so Geri wants some celebrity pals for her child, too - and feels that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s children - Maddox, Zahara & Shiloh - are perfect.

An insider told Britain’s Mirror newspaper: “Geri dotes on Bluebell and only wants the very best for her. Geri has sent personal invites to Angelina. She has a lot of respect for her, as a fellow UN ambassador and for the charity work she does. “She also thinks she is an amazing mum, and believes it would be lovely for Bluebell to meet her children.”

Geri, who’s been a Goodwill Ambassador for nine years, has also sent out personal invites to Nicole Kidman and Roger Federer. But she is so keen to get to know the Jolie-Pitts that she has given them options to attend all of the Spice’s 40 dates around the world. Last night a source close to Brad and Angelina said they would love to attend.

DID ANGELINA JOLIE HAVE A MISCARRIAGE?

Good evening boys & girls! below is the latest cover of national enquirer which is back to ragging on my angelina jolie after taking a break last week by featuring tom cruise & katie holmes (i find that story to be a lot more interesting) this time around they're claiming angelina lost a baby - plus her weight is still diminishing as she's still in a depressed state of mind - there were rumors a few months ago that she was pregnant again but i doubt she is - either she wasn't preggers at all or perhaps she had a miscarriage which is obviously a very personal & private issue - right now i think their family is a decent size but i'm sure we'll be seeing more kids added to the jolie-pitt clan by adoption or plain ol' human nature!

My martha stewart also nabbed a spot on the cover - who supposedly collapsed after dealing with some kind of family tragedy - i hope everything is ok with ms. stewart - i know a lot of people don't care for her very much but she just trips me out - i'd go hang out with her anytime! there's also a lot featured up front concerning that missing girl - her way older hubby drew peterson isn't acting right - i hate to jump to conclusions but she's probably dead - and he probably killed her! too bad nancy grace isn't feeling so hot at the moment - this is the type of stories that lady lives for - she'd be totally all over this one! i'm not following the details all that much - it's too depressing but i hope the truth comes out about what really happened to stacy peterson! popbytes over & out for tonight...xxoo!

Goodwill in the Land of Smiles

BANGKOK, Thailand (UNHCR) – Braving monsoon showers, UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie visited the Tham Hin refugee camp in Thailand on May 19. This day-long visit marked her first visit to a refugee camp in Southeast Asia.

Accompanied by the UN refugee agency's Regional Representative, Jahanshah Assadi, she toured the camp and was briefed by the Thai authorities in the camp as well as the refugee committee and refugee elders. She visited the clinic, spoke with medics and health workers and met many refugees.

At the camp school, Jolie was welcomed by a traditional Karen dance performed by refugee children. Later, at a simple ceremony in the school, she donated a television set, video player and generator for educational and vocational training purposes, along with sports equipment. She also donated a sarong to every refugee woman in the camp.

In return, the refugee community presented Jolie with an embroidered traditional ethnic Karen dress, which she wore, much to the delight of the group. Sitting on floor mats, she distributed soccer balls to the throngs of excited children.

Angelina Jolie meets with estranged dad Jon Voight

Angelina Jolie has reportedly made the first steps to reconcile with her father Jon Voight after meeting him in New York this weekend. Angelina stopped speaking to her dad after he said she had “serious mental problems” on Access Hollywood in 2002. However, she made suggestions earlier this year that she was going to try to patch things up with him but as of August, he hadn’t heard anything from her.

According to reports, the Midnight Cowboy star was spotted leaving the Waldorf Astoria hotel yesterday - when Angelina and her family are currently based - and he smiled for the waiting cameras but refused to give any details about why he was there.

An inside source revealed that after years of deadlock, things have started moving slowly between the estranged pair: “Jon wanted to meet the children but that didn’t happen.”
“It was just a one-on-one with Angie but he thinks at least that’s a start.”
